PERMANENT BIRTH CERTIFICATE

This posts explains the procedure to get permanent birth certificate for the children born in Saudi Arabia. The procedure requires to have an appointment from MOI and to present original temporary birth certificate in the AHWAL UL MADNI office on the date of your appointment. Following is the step by step procedure.

1.       Get appointment from MOI website.

                                I.            Visit http://eservices.moi.gov.sa

II.            Click on English link or directly browse to https://eservices.moi.gov.sa/ES/LogInPages/LoginEn.aspx.

III.            If you are a registered user enter your registration details or enter your IQAMA ID number and image code in the unregistered user’s login.

IV.            Click register later if you have been presented with SMS registration page, you will see following screen.

                              V.            Click on Appointment Services on left side.

VI.            Your Iqamah number will appear in Civil Number, enter Image Code and your date of birth in Gregorian Birth Date, as appeared on your IQAMAH. Then click on Appointments.

VII.            Select sector (AHWAL UL MADNIYAH), DISTRICT (Your District), City, Office (AHWAL UL MADNIYAH office near you), and in service select KHIDMATE SHAMLA LILMUQEEMEEN. Click on Appointments Table.

VIII.            Select the appointment that suits you from the available appointments table and click Reservation. You will be shown a confirmation screen.

IX.            Select ASDAR SHAHADA MEELAD ASLIAYAH LIGHAIR AL SAUDEEN and click ADAFA button. Click on TAKEED ALHIJZ and you will get your appointment, print the appoint page.

2.       Visit Ahwal ul Madni office.

                              X.            Visit the AHWAL UL MADNI office with following documents on your appointment.

                                                               i.      Printout of the appointment.

                                                             ii.      Original Temporary Birth Certificate.

iii.      Copy of your and mother’s IQAMA and passport. (Keep original with you)

iv.      Copy of vaccination certificate with 1 year vaccination completed. (Keep original with you)

XI.            Get the token and submit your documents, normally they ask you to come at 4PM again to receive the certificate. Get it same day from same window or later they will tell you to visit a different room.

NOTE: Now for new born babies the procedure is same as above. The only difference is you have to attach SHAHDA WILADAH issued by Hospital instead of Temporary Birth Certificate and while taking appointment you have to select TASJEEL WAQIAH MEELAD instead of ASDAR SHAHADA MEELAD ASLIAYAH LIGHAIR AL SAUDEEN.

    1. Thank you for your reply. Is there any application form that needs to be filled out for submission with documents.

Another question is that few months back i had to attest get this original temporary birth certificate from my country embassy and they have put embassy stamps on front and back page of this original document. Do you see any problem when i visit Ahwal Madani to return this temporary birth certificate to get the permanent ceritficate. Will they ask me why you have got your embassy stamp on this certificate. What should i tell them in case if i am asked this by Ahwal Madani person ?

    2. Salam. Hope you can help me. I was born in Saudi Arabia. My deceased father worked as a civil engineer there. The only document I have with me now is my father's passport and mine. Is there any chance that I could get a copy of my permanent birth certificate? I understand that in order to get this document, I need to submit a birth notification or the temporary birth certificate. With no luck, I don't have any of these. I have sisters working as professionals in Saudi however I was thinking maybe they won't be entertained since they lack this:

birth notification or the temporary birth certificate

  2. Thank you for your valuable guidance. I was able to get the permanent birth certificate for my child last week. And i also got it attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Next, Can you please explain how can i have a legal (whats stamps are required) English version of this Birth Certificate so that it can be used outside Saudi Arabia.

So far, I have got it translated in english by a certified translator from Khobar and then attested by Chamber of Commerce. Now where do i need to take this translated copy to get more stamps on it (Ahwal Madani , Ministry of Foreighn Affairs ???)

Will Ahwal Madani Sign & Stamp on the above mentioned English translated copy ?

    1. No..

Go to chamber of commerce. You can get a stamp there as a proof that that the office who do the translation to your documents are authorized and legal...

  6. I went today to Ahwal Madani in Khobar, near to Bahrain Bridge.i just spend for almost 30 minutes to get a Birth Certificate of my son..here it goes.

    - i've been there at exactly 8:45, fall in line for documents verification and the guy gave me a number.

    - documents needed
    - Original birth notification from the hospital
    - Original Iqama of Parents with copy
    - Original Passport of Parents with copy of the data page & visa
    - Print out of appointment
    - Form 87 print out and filled up
    - Original Marriage Contract with copy

    - I went to room no 4 and the guy check the documents again and encode the details to his PC. After a minute, he gave to me the print out of the birth certificate, he sign and put a stamp.

    - i go to window 8 and the other guy put a stamp and sign.

    - I went to Room no 2. and again. the guy seating on that office put a stamp and sign.

that's it..and i'm done..very simple...i did not pay anything for late registration since it was less than a month from birth...

and i go straight to Ministry of Foreign Affair in Dammam to get a stamp and with a cost of 30 SR. I've just stay there for almost 10 minutes to get the stamp..

    Have a nice day...
    Bobby

  8. After few months from receiving a temporary birth certificate for my son ( born in Khobar ), I was assigned to Jeddah branch by my company. Later on I submitted that temporary certificate to govt. birth registration office in Jeddah region, but they advise me to go to Khobar and get it from there which my son was originally born. Is there is no way to collect it from Jeddah itself ?

  27. Hi
    I am from India
I got my son's birth certificate one year ago. Now my son is one year old. He has his iqama, insurance card, birth entry certificate issued by the Indian embassy and, of course, the one year vaccination details. Do I need to go to the embassy again and get another birth certificate or the original certificate as they call it.
    Please let me know
    Shall be very thankful
